Access to care and compensation for victims of crime is a crucial social issue that requires fair measures adapted to the reality on the ground.
The Regroupement québécois des centres d'aide et de lutte contre les agressions à caractère sexuel (RQCALACS) considers itself privileged to have been invited to the specific consultations on Bill 84, an act to assist persons who are victims of criminal offences and to promote their recovery. We have been waiting many years for a reform of the compensation system for victims of crime (IVAC); we therefore welcome the government's willingness to address this issue and their desire to deal with it quickly.
